The state-designated psychiatric emergency screening service for Middlesex County.

24/7 emergency psychiatric evaluation for adults and children, community outreach evaluations, and referral into outpatient, partial hospital, or inpatient care.
Cost: Screening centers evaluate people in a psychiatric emergency whether or not they have insurance.

The intake line for Rutgers' county-wide outpatient network.
Routes you into medication management, individual and group therapy, case management, intensive outpatient, first-episode psychosis care, and TMS. Outpatient offices in Edison, Monmouth Junction, and New Brunswick.
Cost: Accepts Medicaid, Medicare, Horizon Blue Cross, Aetna, and self-pay.
Rutgers UBHC does not publish street addresses for its outpatient offices, so call the access line for the location nearest you.

Rutgers Center for Psychological Services (GSAPP)
The university psychology training clinic on the Busch campus, and the strongest low-cost option in the county.

Individual, group, and family therapy plus psychological and learning-disability assessment. Specialty tracks include ADHD, anxiety, trauma-focused care, and dialectical behavior therapy. Care is delivered by doctoral students in clinical and school psychology under licensed supervision.
Cost: Some GSAPP clinics offer low-cost services based on household income and ability to pay. Ask when you call.

A Princeton House outpatient site in Middlesex County.
Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming. Princeton House runs distinct tracks for adults with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, women, older adults, young adults, and children and teens.
